Lizzie asks…

Help me find a Nitro R/C Truck?

I’m wanting to buy a Nitro R/C Truck for my son for Christmas. Any help/reviews I could get would be great! Looking for a 4-wheel drive; nitro; something pretty durable that can be used off-road; I’m thinking like around 40 mph (doesn’t need to be the fastest, but faster than an electric). Not looking for the top of the line or race quality…..just looking for more durability. A toy he can enjoy for sometime. Any links/advice or personal experience would be great. Thanks!!

You can find this brand and many others readily available at any hobby store.

Depending on his age I would start off with a battery powered one as they are alot cheaper to buy and run than the “nitro” ones. You can get complete kits which include the crystals and remote for around 150 bucks and the car is already put together for you. Some of the hobby store car kits you have build yourself. Which can be a hassle to some people. All you would need to buy extra is a battery and charger.

Also avoid any RC car from a toy store and/or department store (Tyco, Nikko) they are pretty much junk.

Nitro R/C truck wont stay started?

i have a Nitro R/C truck 1:8 scale and when try and start it, it will start for about 5 seconds then just shutdown. this is my first time trying to start it and it wont work PLZ help

Try increasing your idle speed by 1/2 a turn, read the manual as to what is the idle speed. Also, since the car is new, you still need to perform break in, the engine will be RICH. This will also require the idle speed to be higher. Hope that helps solve your problem :)
