About Rc Trucks – Faq

Charles asks…

What is the difference in nitro and gas fueled radio controlled rc trucks?

I want to buy one for my husband and I have found nitro gas and nitro powered rc monster trucks, but I want too know if you can just use gas in the nitro gas or if someone sells just gas powered radio controlled monster trucks.

RC Staff Member Answers:

No you can only put the nitro in it. Most rc cars are nitro these days. It rare to have a gas powered.

Thomas asks…

On RC stadium trucks will a plastic control arm break easily?

I am looking at buying an HPI Firestorm, but am not sure since the only control arms available for it are plastic. Or do you know if any other 1/10 scare RC stadium trucks control arms are swapable for example maybe the MT2?

RC Staff Member Answers:

While the parts are plastic, the are very durable, and with the stock equipment that come with the truck, you shouldn’t have to worry about the breaking very often, unless you drive the truck into every solid surface around, my truck, a traxxas rustler, i think i have only broken the control arms twice in 11 years, and one of those times, the truck got run over by a full sized car

and if you do break them, they are cheap and easy to replace

Sandra asks…

What is the best brand of offroad nitro gas RC Trucks?

It will be my first my first one.

If its your first one, go with Traxxas. They have a reputation for being the most user friendly and durable, in addition to having outstanding customer support and lots of info on their website. You can still get parts for some of their vehicles that are over 10 years old, so you will always be able to repair it. Yes if you have a nitro vehicle, you will eventually break something, just accept that as a fact. Incidentally, Traxxas vehicles are among the fastest ready to run vehicles, and the Revo has won nearly every major championship in its class, so you can rest assured that their products are very race capable. I work as an RC mechanic for my local hobby shop, and Traxxas engines are probably the easiest engines to tune that I have worked on. I have other vehicles which are more suited to racing is specific classes, but when I just want to have fun, I usually pull out my rustler and send it screaming around my back yard or down my street. My T-Maxx was the first truck I ever won a race with, so it has a special place in my heart. Kinda windy and opinionated, I know, but you asked.
