- Issues with HPI Savage 25 RTR R/C Truck?
i have a Savage 25 with most stock stuff... i was told that i needed to get it tuned so that it will crank right... the only thing is that i don't have a manual to see how to tune it correctly... anyone know where an online one is? (if its the one from the hpi-racing site, ive already looked)
A You won't need to tune it to start it, just make sure the glow plug is working fine, your glow starter is fully charged, and there is fuel going to the engine. Make sure there is plenty fuel in the tank and with all the radio gear turned off, turn the throttle servo so the carb is fully open. There should be a little primer button on the fuel tank, press that 3 or 4 times. Now turn the throttle servo back so the carb is closed, turn on all your radio gear, insert the glow start and crank the engine. If it's a brand new engine, it may take a little while to start it. And to help it on it's way you might even have to take the glow plug out and put a few drops (but no more!) of fuel directly into the cylinder. Once it's started, then you can set the the idle speed (the little screw with the spring around it on the carb) so that it is just ticking over slow enough without dying on you. I'll include a link so you can download a free ebook, you need adobe to view the ebook but it gives some good tips on how to tune your engine.

I have an HPI-Racing Savage 25 R/C truck. runs on the R/C fuel. It has the Nitro star S-25 4.1cc engine. I was wondering how much it is worth. Everything included, such as the roto start, remote controller, and recharging equipment. note that i haven't had it running in nearly 2 years.
A Depends if you have maintained it well while it was shelfed. If the engine has gone to crap you could sell it as a rolling chassis for about$100. If it runs, but needs a tune, about $200.
