Ideas and HPI Savage Xl Reviews - FAQ and Questions
- Which One Better, HPI Savage XL or HB Lightning GTX2? Please Support with reason.?
I want to buy a Monster Truck R/C for some serious fun, after look for so many products, I want a high performance R/C. I narrowed my option into two products; HPI Savage XL and HB Lightning GTX2. Nonetheless if you want to recommend another product, it's okay, but please support with the reason.
A This one is a tough call, although HPI and HB is the same company. The Lightning GTX2 Has some great upgrades to handle the power, and I like the dual steering servos, I have never liked a twin nitro powered vehicle. Too many variables in the tuning and running of the vehicle. If you have the time and energy to devote to making sure both motors are tuned exactly right then that may be the truck for you. The HPI Savage XL takes a .36 3.75hp motor and an extended chassis as well as some other necessary improvements to handle the torque and hp of the bigger motor. Also you might want to explore if your LHS will be stocking parts for any of these vehicles. It is always nice to just run down and get some parts if necessary, instead of waiting a few days to get delivered. I like the Savage only because it utilizes one big motor vs two motors.

- HPI Savage xl 5.9 or Traxxas T-Maxx 3.3 or Traxxas Jato 3.3?
I currently own a Redcat tornado bb and have had it for a few year. i want more power and more speed. im looking for something that i can take into a parking lot and haul A$$. but then take it into the trails and not get stuck on a few branches. i want more low end torque and power but want to still have speed. also something that is built well and wont break easily. i read the jato is cool for awhile then the wheelies get old because it has so much torque you cant keep the tyres on the ground..or was that just from bad drivers? read the savage is a nitro guzzler. is it really that bad or is it just people complaining? read the T-maxx is a piece of plastic that breaks all of the time.... ANYONE WHO ACTUALLY HAS ONE PLEASE HELP. please no opinions i'm looking for facts. if you just plain hate hpi or traxxas and have no real reason do not bother, but if you had one and all you did was have to replace things because it was fragile let me know. THANK YOU! for any and all help. if you recommend one please tell me why? is it good on gas? does it have amazing torque and great speed? have you had one for a few months and had little to no problems.... THANK YOU AGAIN!
A well the jato is good for speed on road. Savage is great too. But out of those choices i would pick the Tmaxx 3.3. If i were buying i would go with the revo 3.3 it is so good i own it and it got real speed and it has tons of torque hope this helped
