- What is the best traxxas slash brushless motor upgrade?
My old brushed motor got wore out. I am looking for a brushless motor that has good power and goes fast that a traxxas slash can handle at low cost (around $70). Any seggustions?

A I would get the VXL Velineon system by Traxxas. For one, it's waterproof. What more could you ask for. It's going to cost you a little more than $70 but you are not going to find a good brushless system out there for $70. Motor yes, but you can't run a brushless motor on a brushed ESC. You need both, brushless motor and ESC for a brushless motor. You can find them on ebay cheaper than in a hobby store or online hobby store. Or you can get one at towerhobbies.com. They usually have coupons where you can take $$$ off an item depending on how much you spend. VXL = waterproof = awesome!

- Questions about Brushless motor for traxxas slash?
I'm planning on replacing the stock 12T motor that comes with my traxxas slash next week, and I don't want to spend over $100. As of now, I have all stock parts on my slash. Do I need to buy any additional parts before I buy the brushless motor, or should I be able to just buy the brushless motor and put it in? Thanks!

A The ESC that comes with the slash is not cabable of running a brushless motor. You need to have an ESC that is made for brushless motors. If you don't buy them as a set, make sure that if you get a sensored brushless motor, you get a sensored ESC as well. There's nothing else that you HAVE to have to switch to brushless, but depending on what you get you may find the drive train needs to be upgraded. But wait till after you switch to brushless, as you may not need to do this.
