Ideas and Traxxas Video 1/16 Slash Reviews - FAQ and Questions
- Which suspension system is better? Traxxas Slash or Traxxas Revo?
So I would prefer people who use Traxxas to answer this please. I am looking to buy a traxxas slash. Right Now i Am looking at the Traxxas Slash 1/16 2.4g 4WD RTR which is 200 dollars. This slash has the revo suspension. I also saw on a different model of the traxxas slash has the traxxas slash suspension system. I was wondering which would be better for faster speeds. Help!!

A The other slash that you were looking at was the 1/10 scale slash, which is bigger than the other slash. In terms of the best suspension, out of the box, neither of them are very good. however, it is very easy to fix this by replacing the springs and/or shock oil. there are tons of videos on YouTube about how to do this. In my opinion, I would go for the 1/10 slash. its a lot easier to work on and you will probably have a lot more fun with it. here it is: http://traxxas.com/products/models/electric/58024slash
- Need to know what rc car is best for me!?
http://www.nitrorcx.com/51c871-maxstone16-green-24ghz.html http://www.nitrorcx.com/51c852-wildred-24ghz.html http://www.nitrorcx.com/51c853-savared-24-ghz.html im looking for speed and durability i want to go on and off road over jumps (small) in fields and whatever else. also could you tell me the best battery for it im leaning more towards the second car but, im a beginner. what would you get if me?also what would cost less to repair if broken!!! please answer all of the questions and i will rate best answer! thanks.

A I've been in this hobby for over 15 years now, and I honestly have to say you get what you pay for. Being in the hobby for so long I would tell you to save up a little more money and get a Traxxas Mini Revo or Slash. I looked at each RC you have a link for and did NOT see a full line of replacement parts offered. Full line meaning you can purchase EVERY single part on that RC if you needed to. The Traxxas Mini selection has every part, and their electronics are waterproof so you can run it in any weather. Here is a link to a good site to purchase one: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXYAS2**&P=ML. It's just over $200 but on the homepage of that site, there are coupon codes you can enter at checkout for a few extra $$$'s off the price. If you want to see how it runs, check out some YouTube videos of it. Also, this mini Revo comes with a battery and charger and is ready to run out of the box (just charge the included battery). And repairs for broken pieces are not going to very much no matter what company makes the RC. They are all pretty much the same. You just want to make sure the company actually makes replacement parts. Otherwise it's going to be junk when you break it. The 3 you are chosing from are a lot cheaper than the Traxxas I showed you. But if you can't fix it when it breaks, you will wish you spent the extra money on something better. Like I said, you get what you pay for. If you don't like Traxxas, then I would suggest HPI, Associated, Kyosho, Tamiya, and Losi. These are all top of the line RC manufacturers out today. Losi has some nice Mini's 1/16th scale RCs for $100. About the same price as the ones you listed, and they have all the replacement parts you need. Shop around a little more and see what else is out there. Check out the web sites of those brand names I gave you. You can find all of them on that Tower Hobbies web site (except for Losi for some reason), or even a little cheaper on ebay. Hope this helps. Just because you are a beginner doesn't mean you have to start off with something that isn't going to last you.
